Jane Jeffes

Jane Jeffes started her career in London’s Fleet Street, before moving to Central Independent Television and then into radio. As Head of Programmes for Unique Broadcasting, the UK’s largest radio production company, she was responsible for a wide range of programming on BBC and commercial radio.
She moved to Sydney in May 2000 and worked in development and production on a range of Australian documentaries before setting up her own company, Firefly Productions.
When Silma’s School went into production, she was also in production on a self-funded documentary about children in post-war Baghdad. She provided the story, research and footage to the ABC’s Australian Story which broadcast the story about Sydney woman Donna Mulhearn in July 2005.
Jane is currently working with the Sierra Leonean athletes seeking asylum in Australia after the Commonwealth Games and developing a couple of projects with Southern Star.
