
Catherine Madigan
Catherine’s background in production has led to extensive roles as Co-producer and Production Manager for some of New Zealand’s leading documentary makers and includes award-wining documentaries such as ‘Georgie Girl’ the story of a transsexual Member of Parliament, and ‘Punitive Damages’, the tale of a mother who took an Indonesian General to court in Boston, USA for the death of her son during riots in
East Timor.
When not developing or producing documentary, Catherine works as a freelance Producer or Production Manager on both international and local feature films, television series and commercials. Many of these projects have given her the opportunity to work globally, allowing her to indulge in her other passion of travelling, while providing inspiration for her documentary work.
‘Turning the Tide’ continues Catherine’s interest and work on issues of human rights and social justice. Her directorial debut was a documentary on the ECPAT campaign to stop child prostitution. Funded by Unicef New York, it was distributed to 11 countries and translated into 5 languages.
